PROPOSTAS

O termo «Paisagem» tem sido ao longo dos tempos, um dos mais ambíguos no vocabulário usual e no vocabulário científico. No entanto, no final do século XX tornou- se suporte de uma das recentes aquisições conceptuais, a Paisagem Cultural. Para compreendê-la, a reflexão aponta-nos o uso preferencial de noções assentes na leitura histórica e antropológica de tudo que foi construído pelo Homem sobre o espaço natural. Deste modo, a constituição da Paisagem em Património convida a perscrutar o tempo, objetivamente avaliado, servindo para reconhecer o passado. A conjugação do tempo com as realidades físicas e materiais, a que devemos acrescentar a subjetividade do observador, ajudam a perceber parte da complexidade do que vulgarmente denominamos como «sistema paisagem», entendendo-se ou procurando percecionar e perceber a conformação do território, tornado transdisciplinar pelas disciplinas que normalmente explicam a paisagem material, tais como as ciências naturais, a arqueologia, a história, a geografia, a arquitetura, entre outras, mas também pelas que abordam perspetivas do imaterial, como a literatura, a antropologia ou a história cultural.
Reconhecer critérios de observação e acolher estratégias de intervenção e de sedução, em busca da harmonia, são algumas das preocupações que queremos debater e aprofundar, intimamente ligadas ao uso e usufruto da paisagem assumida como património, conscientes das mutabilidades urbanas e rurais que exigem atitudes específicas de gestão, de preservação e de valorização. Em contrapartida, a evolução de políticas internacionais faz apelo ao reconhecimento da diversidade, assumida como identitária e cada vez mais como marketing territorial.
Interpretando-se a lógica de transdisciplinaridade do CITCEM, será do maior interesse que as propostas de comunicação incidam sobre campos de abordagem diversos, quer seja na análise e interpretação cronológica da construção milenar da paisagem,quer seja na leitura cultural através das disciplinas explicativas da Paisagem, quer seja através de casos de gestão e valorização de realidades atuais.
Num enfoque que procura articular o passado e o presente, numa perspetiva cronologicamente transversal e geograficamente global, o III Encontro do CITCEM convoca a comunidade científica para um debate transdisciplinar, historicamente orientado sobre a Paisagem, os seus patrimónios, representações, usos atuais e prospetivos. Entre os temas propostos, que serão objecto de análise em painéis temáticos, contam-se:

Over the ages, the expression «Landscape» has been one of the most ambiguous both in ordinary and scientific vocabulary. However, in the late 20th century, it became the support for one of the most recent conceptual acquisitions: Cultural Landscape. In order to fully understand it, reflection points to the preferential use of notions based on historical and anthropological readings of all manmade constructions on natural spaces. Thus, the constitution of Landscape as Heritage invites us to peer into time, objectively assessed, as a way to recognize the past. The combination of time with physical and material realities, together with the subjectivity of the observer, help us to understand some of the complexity of what is commonly described as «system landscape», understanding or trying to perceive and understand the conformation of the territory, made transdisciplinary by the disciplines that usually explain the material landscape, such as the natural sciences, archaeology, history, geography, architecture, among others, but also by addressing perspectives of the immaterial, such as literature, anthropology and cultural history. In the pursuit of harmony, the recognition of observation criteria and the acceptance of intervention and seduction strategies, closely linked to the use and enjoyment of the landscape taken as heritage, are some of the concerns that we want to discuss and deepen, keenly aware of the urban and rural mutability that requires specific management, preservation and exploitation attitudes. In contrast, the evolution of international policies calls for the recognition of diversity assumed as the essence of identity and increasingly perceived as territorial marketing.
As an Interpretation of the transdisciplinary rationale of CITCEM, it is of the greatest interest that the paper proposals focus on different fields of approach, whether in the analysis and chronological interpretation of the age-old construction of the landscape, in cultural readings through the explanatory disciplines of the Landscape, or throughcase studies of management and enhancement of current realities.
With an approach that seeks to articulate past and present in a chronologically transversal and geographically global perspective, the III CITCEM Conference calls on the scientific community for a transdisciplinary debate, historically focused on the Landscape, its heritage, representations, present and prospective uses. The proposed topics that will be examined in thematic panels are as follows:
