The Observatory of Creative Industries in Portugal (Obcrei.pt)

The Observatory of Creative Industries in Portugal ( Obcrei.pt ) is an infocomm platform that provides access to data and the analysis of information and indicators of the still emerging cultural and creative sectors on a national scale, taking into account a harmonization of typologies and terminology of indicators.

It was part of the first phase of development of Creia.Lab and remains an experimental project that aims to be recognized as a source of open, interactive information that is close to the sector’s agents and at the service of the educational, scientific, cultural/creative, economic and political communities.

Provides a dashboard of interactive visualization of indicators produced by entities such as INE, captured and extracted automatically and enabling a visualization exercise that allows appropriation and understanding by different subjects of the cultural and creative industries (CCI), from the general public, who searches for terms in natural language, to the domain specialist, who favors a systematic and relational approach.

Ongoing research aims to produce new indicators for the dashboard.
