The Study Group on Modern Portuguese Novels, under the CITCEM research unit of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Porto, was created in 2016 and brings together a group of researchers from different study cycles. Tem como objeto de estudo as novelas, pastoris e de outros filões, do período correspondente à Idade Moderna (séculos XVI-XVIII).

Given the importance of the corpus of this literary genre in the context of Portuguese culture, CITCEM, in partnership with the Portuguese Army Library, intends through this project to bring together in the same space the important corpus bequeathed to us by the writers of the 17th and 18th centuries. Desta forma, passa a ser possível consultar todas as suas obras neste mesmo endereço, ou por via do acesso ao Catálogo Digital da Biblioteca do Exército Português.
