Fabiana Dicuonzo (1990) is an Italian architect and curator, based in Bari. She holds a Master in Architecture at the Polytechnic of Bari – Faculty of Architecture (2015) and she attended the Postgraduate School in Conservation of Architectural and Landscape Heritage at “La Sapienza” University of Rome Italy (2018). She attended three online courses (2020) at NODE Centre for Curatorial Studies and an advanced course “EXHIBIT” at MAXXI (2018).
She is currently a consultant in several European Cooperation Projects for Apulia Region, Department of Tourism, Economy of Culture and Valorization of the Territory.
Since 2016, she has been writing bilingual articles and interviews on the online art magazine Artwort, and since 2021 she is co-founder of the Artwort Gallery.
Since 2018, she is co-founder of an architecture practice PROFFERLO Architecture (IT-UK) and she is founder of the curatorial project Antilia Gallery (IT) whose aim is to occupy spaces that are neglected and inject them with cultural events and contemporary art exhibitions.
Dicuonzo works as project manager and curator of the art residency and cultural program at Crocevia Stand-by in the Former Conservatory of Santa Croce in Altamura(IT).
In 2022 she was selected for the Curators Lab – Das Haus(online) and a three months residency as project manager at Kora – Centre of the Contemporary (Lecce, IT).
She is a licensed architect specialised in conservation and exhibit design working for museums, public and private institutions. In 2018, she won “TornoSubito” program with the project “Methods and forms of Museum communication” working at Regional Direction of Museums in Puglia and the National Museum of Palazzo Venezia – Regional Direction of Museums in Lazio, Italian Ministry of Culture (2018-2019). Her research on museums has been published in Scires-it, Volume 11, Issue 1 with the article “The impact of virtual tours on museum exhibitions a er the onset of covid-19 restrictions: visitor engagement and long-term perspectives” and she’s working on the publication of the chapter “Towards a digital shi in museum visiting experience. Dra ing the research agenda on virtual reality applications” in the Springer publication “Architecture and design for Industry 4.0: theory and practice”.
She won the first prize of the Design Competition “Dai bordi al cuore della città – Santeramo Partecipa” – Scientific support by EUROPAN, together with Profferlo team – “First Prize Young Architects IN/Arch Puglia 2020” with: The Hedgehog – Booksharing pavillion, Gioia del Colle, “City and Benches” Competition – London Festival Architecture 2020. She received the honourable mention for the originality of the project proposal in the “Competition for the exhibition design of Museum of Sovizzo ”. She won Treccani weekly Award “Web Italian Excellence” with the article “La secessione Viennese: stilemi dell’arte totale” published on www.artwort.com.
