MEETING OF YOUNG CPLP RESEARCHERS ON AFRICA
The debate of ideas and scientific dissemination are at the core of a living, ever-changing community. With this premise as a starting point, the Organizing Committee, with the support of the Center for Studies on Africa and Development and the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries, come together to create a unique discussion forum in the Lusophone space.
Thus was born the Meeting of Young CPLP Researchers on Africa, a space for the promotion of young Portuguese-speaking scholars in the area of scientific research on African Studies. Encouraging scientific debate among the citizens of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries, in the reinforcement of a critical thinking regarding the African continent.
Designed to celebrate this year, 2021, the International Day of Africa, which is celebrated on May 25th. This date marks the founding of the Organization of African Unity on May 25, 1963. However, the current health conditions resulting from the covid19 pandemic do not allow it to take place on the scheduled date.
With this in mind, and in order to encourage interest and participation, the organizers decided to hold a hybrid colloquium on July 8 and 9, 2021, in anticipation of the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the CPLP (July 17, 1996).
In this context, it is proposed to list a set of conversations with specialists from the most diverse areas and to invite a group of young researchers to mark the meeting, thus celebrating diversity and knowledge about Africa.
