As part of the Slow Curatorship events, this workshop proposes a journey between the body, the territory and memory, exploring the bridges – physical, symbolic and sensory – that connect or separate us in everyday life. Based on the active observation of the space surrounding the Tram Museum, and with the construction of the new Ferreirinha Bridge as a reference, we propose an exercise in listening and collective creation that uses video-essays as a tool for resisting time. Given its privileged location facing the Douro, the activity takes this physical and symbolic position as a reference to explore the relationship between the physical and emotional body through the metaphor of the bridge.

The video essay, due to its hybrid nature between the documentary, the poetic and the sensory, allows us to capture the complexity of individual and collective experiences in a given territory. In this context, it is also a means of questioning: What landscapes cross us? What boundaries do we feel in our bodies? Which bridges have we decided not to cross?
By calling on the body and emotions as the center of the creative process, we seek to open up a space for critical and sensitive reflection on heritage, mobility, belonging and the construction of identity. Through the eyes of the participants, we intend to build a plural audiovisual narrative, capable of resisting erasure and forgetting, and of affirming other ways of inhabiting time and space.
