Health Literacy: The need for transdisciplinary reflection to foster knowledge and envision new tools
Health literacy (HL) is one of the core issues in the contemporary world that closely associates with sustainability and human development goals. HL is part of the complex relationships between individuals (e.g. lay people, health and social professionals), institutions (e.g. governments, health system institutions, universities) and societies (e.g. sociocultural and economic environments for inclusion and citizenship). This is something the pandemic has made quite clear: the existence of multiple gaps and the need for transversal bridges (and bonds). Our workshop will join researchers from different disciplines and contexts that will share their experiences and results, to run a creative and fruitful debate with the audience, that hopefully will contribute to new routes on health literacy theories and practices.
