Nota Biográfica

I am the coordinator of CODA, Centre for Digital Culture and Innovation, at the Faculty of Arts & Humanities of the University of Porto (FLUP); affiliated at CITCEM (FLUP) and at INESC Coimbra. I received my Ph.D., with honors, in Prehistoric Archeology, from UAB, with a dissertation entitled “Towards functional analysis of archaeological objects through Reverse Engineering processes”. Previously, I completed an M.Sc. in Prehistoric Archeology from the same university; a Multidisciplinary M.Sc. in Multimedia Technologies, with honors, from FEUP; and a B.A. in Visual Education from IPC.
I have worked as a researcher at the Austrian Academy of Sciences (IKant-ÖAW), The Cyprus Institute (STARC-CyI), the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (LAQU-UAB) and at the extinct Instituto Português de Arqueologia (CIPA-IPA). I have been actively involved in several international projects and published extensively in interdisciplinary fields. My research work covers three intertwined subjects – 3D/2D Digital imaging, Data analysis, Digital data life-cycle and FAIR principles – and has a special focus on the development of methodologies and digital applications for research in Archaeology, Cultural Heritage and Digital Humanities.
