In the support of this holistic vision, we intend to promote new lines of reflection around image and emblem studies extensive to the Portuguese reality, proposing an equally wide range of thematic lines:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Theories and practices of emblematic forms: Andrea Alciato and the tradition of emblems; emblematic strategies of relating texts and images; particularities of national and local emblems&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Relations between emblematics and other symbolic forms: companies, hieroglyphics, allegories, heraldry, historical mottoes, sigillography, medals and numismatics&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Classical, biblical, medieval and contemporary themes, topics\/types and sources from the emblematic tradition and visual culture;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Emblematic, hermetic and alchemical;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Relations between emblematics and other forms of artistic expression: festive relations, architectural spaces, sculpture, painting, decorative arts&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Relations between emblematic and literature; the subgenres of emblematic and related works: allegorical literature, bestiaries, books of fables&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Emblematic and press.
