VIII ObCiber Conference: 15 years of the cyberjournalism observatory

The Observatório do Ciberjornalismo invites you to take part in the 8th ObCiber Conference, which will be held on November 28 at the Amphitheatre of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto. The 2023 edition marks the 15th anniversary of the Observatory of Cyberjournalism and the event’s program includes several new features. To show how the Observatory’s work has evolved, there will be an exhibition in the Amphitheater atrium with posters of the meetings and days held by ObCiber over the years.

The program of the event aims to remember the moments that have marked these fifteen years. To this end, after the opening session, the event will feature a short presentation on ObCiber’s 15 years. A new session will follow, this time with messages from many of the national and international researchers who have taken part in the events organized by ObCiber.

The event’s program also includes a conference where the Director of ObCiber will reflect on the past, present and future of the Observatory. The program will then include the participation of different national and local media professionals in a debate on Cyberjournalism in Portugal. The 8th ObCiber Conference closes with the announcement and presentation of the 2023 Cyberjournalism Awards.

The 8th Conference, with free admission, is organized by ObCiber and is supported by CITCEM – Centre for Transdisciplinary Research on Culture, Space and Memory, and the Faculty of Letters of the University of Porto.
