Pedro Almeida Leitão is a researcher at CITCEM and a FCT doctoral fellow, developing the project “Brands, agents and media: the commercial brands and the advertising market in Portugal in the first third of the 20th century”. He has researched brands, marketing and advertising in historical context and the business transformation associated with their development, particularly in the port wine sector. The work to which he is currently dedicated covers topics such as the process of corporate internationalization, the emergence of a “consumer society” in the early 20th century, and the history of the Portuguese periodical press, among others. His academic background also extends to the areas of Economics and Marketing.
