Biographical note

She has a degree in Education (University of Minho), a master’s degree in Education: Sociology of Education and Educational Policies (University of Minho), and a PhD in Education Sciences (University of Vigo, registered at the University of Minho).
She has been teaching in higher education since 2000, and is currently an associate professor at the School of Education and Social Sciences of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria.
From 2004 to 2013, she was a member of the board of directors of the Northeast Jean Piaget School of Education, holding the positions of member and vice president (2004 to 2007) and director (2008 to 2013). She has been collaborating with UTAD, as an invited assistant professor, since 2001.
He internationalized his teaching activity in 2012, developing teaching functions at the Jean Piaget University of Mozambique and later at the Catholic University of Mozambique.
She has experience as a Socio-Educational Mediator at the Dr. Júlio Martins School Grouping, where she spent 6 years and coordinated the Mediation Office, as well as the Positive Parenting and Interculturality project under the Social and Community Personal Development Plan of the National Program for the Promotion of School Success. She coordinated the Network of Schools for Intercultural Education in the School Grouping under consideration, following her participation as co-author in the application for the Intercultural School seal, which granted the Grouping the “Intercultural School” seal. Also noteworthy is her work on the project “The Power of Peer Mediation” in the category of civic education, which earned the School Grouping Dr. Júlio Martins the distinction of “Child-Friendly School”.
In December 2020, as coordinator of the Mediation Office, she received a distinction from the Municipality of Sintra recognizing the positive mediation project as a good practice and an example for other school groups in Portugal.
From 2019 to January 2022 she collaborated with the Fernão de Magalhães International Teaching and Research Center, where she served as pedagogical coordinator and researcher.
She is a researcher at the Transdisciplinary Research Center “Culture, Space and Memory” at the University of Porto.
He is on the board of directors of Intervenção – Association for the promotion and dissemination of culture.
She is an ad hoc reviewer of articles in scientific journals in her field of training and research.
She has participated in several juries for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees nationally and internationally and is the author of publications in the research areas of Social Education/Social Pedagogy, Socio-Educational Mediation, Interculturality, Positive Parenting, Pedagogical Assessment, and Inclusion.
