In close collaboration between CITCEM, through Professor Gaspar Martins Pereira, and the newspaper “Público”, on the initiative of its director, Manuel Carvalho, several researchers from this Research Unit have contributed, with articles published between August 14 and 27, 2020, to the clarification of “one of the most violent, dramatic, and transforming periods of Portuguese history”. The visibility granted to the investigative work of its authors reinforces CITCEM’s role in the understanding of our contemporaneity, providing the readers of a prestigious newspaper with relevant and updated information about a landmark date for the city of Porto and Portuguese history.
