Applications Open – Cyberjournalism Awards

The Observatory of Cyberjournalism (ObCiber), of the University of Porto, is inviting Portuguese news sites to take part in the 18th edition of the Cyberjournalism Awards, which aim to recognize the best of what is produced in Portugal in this area.

The awards will be presented in the categories of General Excellence in Cyberjournalism, Breaking News, Multimedia Reporting, Digital Video Narrative, Digital Sound Narrative, Digital Infographics, Proximity Cyberjournalism and Academic Cyberjournalism.

All Portuguese news sites – generalist, thematic, national, regional and academic – with regular web updates can apply.

Applications for the 2025 Cyberjournalism Awards are only for works published online between October 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025, and must be submitted to ObCiber by October 20, 2025.

The finalists will be voted for online on the ObCiber website.

The results of this vote will be announced, along with the announcement of the winning prizes, at the 9th ObCiber Conference, on November 18, 2025, at the Amphitheatre of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto.
