Round Table "Archaeology and Architecture. Practices and Writings with the World"
This meeting was designed to mark the 20th session of the cycle Seminars in Prehistory. Archaeology, Architecture and Art, which has been held since 2014 at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto and is part of the activities of the Department of Heritage Techniques and Sciences (DCTP / FLUP), in collaboration with CEAACP (between 2014 and 2016) and CITCEM (2017 and 2018).
With this round table, we are trying to bring together all the institutions involved and call on other
connections
. So that other meetings and associations can emerge from these practices.
Thinking Archaeology and Architecture has also been part of a friendship project.
The creation of texts about the past, the writing of spaces already inhabited and yet to be inhabited, is part of the adventure between archaeological practice and architectural experience. We propose to think about design and use, construction and housing, the different ways and rhythms of writing (being) (in) the world, bringing together architects and archaeologists, in the disjunction of anachronistic time, so that other spaces can be built, invented, without fear of resisting the institutional image.
In the experience of writing as reconstruction and invention, as sequence and disruption, as a way of inhabiting the still to come constructions of the past, we propose to think about drawing practices and the use of space between the construction/writing of the ruin (or the beginning) and home to come (or imagined ruin).
