CALL FOR PAPERS | Populations and Health Group Meeting

Porto, FLUP, November 28, 2020

We live today in a world radically transformed by health achievements, with special emphasis on the extraordinary reduction in infant mortality and fertility, and significant gains in life expectancy. On the other hand, the impact of the SARS-CoV2 pandemic has reminded us of other pandemics that many thought were unrepeatable.

Within this framework, which was widely debated at the XII Congress of the Historical Demography Association, held at the FLUP, with the collaboration of CITCEM, we intend to promote a reflection on the dynamics of population and family over time, focusing on the approach of historical demography and social history, with openness to other perspectives that aim to deepen this issue.

To this end, we invite all researchers and collaborators of the Populations and Health Group to participate in this meeting by submitting paper or session proposals by September 30, 2020.
The meeting will take place in a face-to-face setting, with the possibility of holding it online.
