The volume recently published by Coimbra University Press – Carolina Michaëlis de Vasconcelos/Ricardo Jorge “Correspondence”, edited by Maria Manuela Gouveia Delille and Isabel João Ramires – consists of an epistolary exchange between a philologist and a medical epidemiologist, both national and international celebrities. Centered predominantly on historical-literary matters, the correspondence nevertheless provides new data on the human, family, and cultural profiles of the two personalities and on the respective socio-political and scientific-literary context of the first decades of the twentieth century, proving itself to be a valuable testimony to the affinities existing between the so-called exact sciences and literature.

The book will be launched on December 16th, at 5pm, at the Anfiteatro Nobre da FLUP, and will be presented by Professors Clara Barros and Zulmira Santos, respectively CITCEM collaborator and researcher.
