We invite all communities, organizations and people with special connection and interest in the theme of water cultures in Viana do Castelo (the sea, the river, fishing, popular festivals, leisure, etc.) to participate in the Moderated Tertulia “Water Cultures in Viana do Castelo

This is intended to be an experience sharing event, starting with the exhibition of a documentary about the reality of the Neiva River mouth, as a way to inspire and open the second part of this event, in the form of a conversation/ moderated conversation about water cultures in Viana do Castelo.

> About the Documentary Stories from both sides:

Stories from both sides: building a collective vision and narrative about the mouth of the Neiva River was a project, promoted by Rio Neiva – Association for the Defense of the Environment, in partnership with the Municipality of Viana do Castelo and the Municipality of Esposende. This documentary, made in 2021, recorded the motivations and concerns of all those who openly volunteered to share their experiences and stories, so that together we can enhance and protect the mouth of the Neiva River.

> About Moderate Tertulia:

Framed in Lab.CA – Laboratórios Culturas d’Água, which are laboratories/workshops that aim to establish dialogues based on the theme of Water Cultures, in order to think possible ways of building a co-creative work, involving various interested actors. The idea is to stimulate interaction between different generations by sharing stories, photos, but also current experiences about the territory, in this case, Viana do Castelo and the region.

Event hosted and supported by the Municipality of Viana do Castelo, promoted by Rio Neiva – Association for the Defense of the Environment with CITCEM – Center for Transdisciplinary Research Culture, Space and Memory, in partnership with the Municipality of Esposende as a consortium member of the project Estórias de ambos lados.
