Starting with the theme of migration, the exhibition “Imagined Territories” brings 16 works from the Collection of the Cerveira Art Biennial Foundation to the Museo del Crudo from May 4. The initiative is part of the “Fundação Bienal de Arte de Cerveira: the Collection on the road” (Cerveira Art Biennial Foundation: the Collection on the road) and features a series of multidisciplinary activities aimed at raising awareness of Portuguese contemporary art and culture.
The project “Fundação Bienal de Arte de Cerveira: the Collection on the road” presents a concerted cultural program in partnership with the Noarte Paese Museo Association and the Municipality of San Sperate (Sardinia, Italy). According to the President of the Cerveira Art Biennial Foundation, Fernando Nogueira, the initiative “represents yet another step in the strategy of internationalization and valorization of the Cerveira Art Biennial Foundation as an entity committed to Portuguese contemporary artistic production and to raising awareness and training audiences, in this case across borders”.
The public will be offered “a look at contemporary migration through the perception of territory, a look that is built on the works of 16 artists from different generations – but with a territory in common, Portugal – in an exploratory narrative of possible imaginaries,” explains the exhibition’s curator, Elisa Noronha.
