Innovation is one of mankind’s greatest assets. Combined with its entrepreneurial capacity, it allows the development of a number of industries that take advantage of human ingenuity. Traditionally, creative industries are linked to artistic activities, but they are increasingly being applied in other fields, such as heritage and heritage management!
Port cities continue to be privileged actors in globalization processes and their study is essential to understand modernity. They are zones of contact, of cultural exchange, of transfer of knowledge and syncretic experiences. The exchange between port cities has been and will continue to be a favorable contribution to the development of creative environments. New challenges are arising in times of major growth in tourism and the social and economic value of maritime heritage. In a post-pandemic scenario, the development and articulation of creative industries is key to the continued enhancement of heritage.
With the support of CITCEM, UPTEC and Rede Coopmar are organizing this meeting that seeks to bring together diverse experiences and projects of cultural entrepreneurship and innovation in the field of heritage from Portugal, Chile and Cuba.
