Speaker: Manuel Cabral

Manuel de Novaes Cabral (b. 1960) was President of the Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto, I.P. from Nov. 2011 to Dec. 2011. 2018. He is a board member of Infraestruturas de Portugal, S.A. and president of the Alliance Française do Porto.

He was Vice-Chairman of the European Federation of Origin Wines – EFOW, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Douro Museum (2011-18). He was Secretary General of the Assembly of European Wine Regions (AREV) from 1998 to 2001 and the Porto City Council’s representative on the Network of Capitals of Great Vineyards from 2003 to 2011.

He has published, among others, the books “Territories of Wine” and “Aspects of Wine Policy in European Regions”. He is an honorary member of more than a dozen confraternities, including the Confraria do Vinho do Porto (Cavaleiro) and the Jurade de Saint-Emilion (Prod’homme). He is a Knight of the Ordre de la Légion d’Honneur and an Officer of the Ordre du Mérite Agricole, among other official decorations from various countries.
