Numerous R&D Centers in the Social Sciences and Humanities, including CITCEM, have subscribed to the statement “For a stable and confidence-building science policy”. The statement positions itself critically regarding the results of the FCT evaluation of the Call for Proposals for Funding Scientific Research and Technological Development Projects in all Scientific Domains – 2020. The document also stresses the need for FCT to ensure stability and regularity in the opening of calls for proposals, the necessary robustness to provide interdisciplinary and integrated responses, and calls for an urgent participatory dialogue between FCT and the scientific community in the area of HSC – which is considered to be clearly insufficient.

The communiqué, which CITCEM understands to be the first step towards a more profound debate to be developed among the Research Units in this area, can be found in its entirety in the annex.
