Call for papers for the colloquium Do Texts Have Color? Perspectives and Representations of Racism - Until June 15, 2022

DO THE TEXTS HAVE COLOR?
PERSPECTIVES AND REPRESENTATIONS OF RACISM
Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto, October 13-14, 2022
Racism and its manifestations are increasingly on the agenda, including in Portugal, where the debate seems to have arrived late. One of the media in which the phenomenon can be detected are texts, of all kinds.
To discuss the issue, CITCEM’s Local and Global Representations group is organizing a colloquium, to be held at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Porto on October 13 and 14, 2022. It is intended, on the one hand, to problematize concepts such as color, race, and racism, but also to address how these concepts have manifested themselves (or have been silenced) in the realm of language, literature, journalism, advertising, etc. We would therefore welcome contributions from the fields of Literary Studies, Language Sciences, Communication Sciences, Education Sciences, Cultural Studies, Decolonial Studies, Epistemology, History.
