Adília Fernandes (CITCEM) coordinates the two volumes of the book "Francisco António Correia - Estudos Económicos
With the sponsorship of CITCEM, ID-MNE, ISEG and IHC, Adilia Fernandes, a researcher at CITCEM, coordinated the publication, in two volumes, of the most relevant economic studies by Francisco António Correia (Torre de Moncorvo, 1877-Lisbon, 1938). The Introduction is signed by Carlos Bastien, professor of Economic History at ISEG.
Professor of Economics and director of the ISEG, known as ISC, in the first half of the 20th century, Francisco António Correia introduced International Economics as an academic specialty and is the author of the first published Economic History of Portugal.
Under the liberal vision that characterized him, he intervened in the public arena, namely, as minister of the Republic, representative of the Portuguese State abroad, in commercial treaties and conferences, such as the one in Geneva in 1927, promoted by the League of Nations, or as co-founder of the magazine Seara Nova. He was the author of an important and innovative project of European integration in the economic field.
