The seminar “Challenges of the Portuguese Sea”, a unique event in the national panorama, returns with its 10th edition, consolidating its purpose of promoting the discussion and sharing of scientific knowledge about the most different perspectives of maritime culture.

With the theme “From Sea to Arts”, the 2022 edition will take place on October 29th and will be dedicated to the most varied artistic expressions that have the Sea as their inspiration, promoting cultural manifestations that highlight and affirm the Portuguese maritime identity.

Aimed at those interested in maritime culture, art and artistic creation, and all those who seek scientific and cultural fruition through heritage, this year’s edition will have as partners the Direção Regional de Cultura do Centro, CITCEM – Centro de Investigação Transdisciplinar “Cultura, Espaço e Memória”, from the University of Porto, and the Art History Institute from the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
