Teatro de Marionetas do Porto will benefit from the Partnership Support Program – Dance, Theater and Disciplinary Crossing Archives, promoted by Direção-Geral das Artes. The presented and financed project aims at the treatment of the archive and collection of Museu das Marionetas do Porto, with the objective of implementing an information management system of its collection, essential to the accomplishment of the institution’s mission and objectives, as a place of valorization and preservation of the memory and artistic experimentation.

Opened in 2013 and located in the Historical Center, the Museu das Marionetas do Porto is unique of its kind in Portugal, with a vast collection of author’s puppets, consisting of objects of various types and that have been part of more than 50 shows, produced since the foundation of Teatro de Marionetas do Porto, in 1988.

The project’s implementation has the support of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto and CITCEM, in more specific, but not exclusive, articulation with the Master in Museology and with the intervention of researchers integrated in CITCEM, namely in the following Groups: Education and Societal Challenges; Material and Immaterial Patrimony.
