5th Peninsular Meeting of Ancient Numismatics (EPNA)

Between April 9 and 11, 2026, the Faculty of Letters of the University of Porto will host the 5th Peninsular Meeting of Ancient Numismatics, dedicated to the theme “War and Currency”.

The meeting brings together specialists from different fields, such as archaeology, history and numismatics, to discuss the role of currency in contexts of conflict in antiquity. The scientific program includes plenary lectures by international researchers, as well as paper sessions dedicated to the production, circulation and meaning of money in military contexts and territorial expansion.
