Sónia Silva is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto and an integrated member of CITCEM since 2025. He mainly teaches courses in the area of Strategic Communication, and is responsible for various subjects related to Advertising, Public Relations, Communication Consultancy, Marketing and Digital Marketing, Organizational Communication and Protocol and Event Organization. He has also taught transversal subjects in the Communication Sciences, such as Communication Theories, Research Methodology, Sociology of Communication, Methodology and Quantification of Information and Science Communication.

She has a PhD in Communication Studies: Technology, Culture and Society from the University of Minho (2020), with a thesis entitled “Communicating to be socially responsible: the role of communication in fulfilling the social mission of Portuguese public universities”,

His research focuses on the areas of Organizational and Strategic Communication, Social Responsibility, Advertising, Public Relations, Health Communication and Science Communication, areas in which he works from the point of view of the production and transfer of knowledge through the publication of articles, the editing of scientific journals and participation in conferences.
