Joana Rodrigues has a PhD in Digital Media, with a specialization in Journalism, Data and Information Management, from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. This degree was awarded following her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Information Science from the Faculties of Engineering and Letters of the University of Porto.

She is a lecturer at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto, where she teaches on the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Information Science. His research activity focuses on research data management, descriptive metadata and digital curation, with special attention to practices that promote semantic interoperability, open science and the sustainable management of scientific information.
