Call for Communications
The 10th Luso-Spanish Conference on Medieval History will feature speakers from Portugal, Spain and other countries. Researchers are invited to submit proposals for free papers that fall within the thematic scope defined for this edition, centered on research into Iberian historical geography during the period corresponding to the time of King Dinis. The meeting aims to be a space for reflection, debate and sharing between medievalists, promoting scientific dialog around the political, territorial, social and cultural dynamics that marked the Iberian space in the transition to the Late Middle Ages.
Themes
1 – Policies and Powers: Territories. Borders. Diplomacy.
2 – Social dynamics: Social groups. Population movements. Social minorities. Poverty and marginalization.
3 – Cultures and religions: Languages and writing. Cultural manifestations. Religious expressions. Courtly and popular cultures.
4 – King Dinis and his reign: Political protagonisms. Social policies. Economic dynamics. Cultural brands.
Proposals for free papers, on the topics listed, lasting up to 20 minutes, in one of the languages of the Conference (Portuguese, Spanish, English or French) are accepted and must be submitted to the email address jornadaslusoespanholas@gmail.com no later than September 15, 2025.
