SHOWCASE - U.PORTO: PAST AND PRESENT TO (RE)DISCOVER THE CITY

On November 27, young researchers from the University of Porto will once again open the doors of the Rectory’s Historic Building to communicate science and share the latest visual and digital explorations developed around the (re)discovery of this region. locus identity and its people, in and with the city of Porto.

It will present the results of the projects developed in the context of the final dissertations/projects of the Masters in Communication and Management of Creative Industries and in History of Art, Heritage and Visual Culture, as well as the INOVPED Open Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Experimentation Curricular Unit, which involved students from the doctoral programs in Educational Sciences (FPCEUP), Teaching and Dissemination of Sciences (FCUP) and Heritage Studies (FLUP); 2nd cycle (Integrated Masters in Informatics and Computer Engineering and Masters in Multimedia (FEUP); Masters in History of Art and Visual Culture and Masters in Communication Sciences (FLUP); Masters in Art and Design for the Public Space (FBAUP)); and 1st cycle (Applied Languages and Philosophy (FLUP)), as well as Masters in History, International Relations and Cooperation (FLUP), History of Portuguese Art (FLUP) and a professional with a degree in Design (ESAD).

Highlights include The Rectory of the University of Porto, 1803-1911. The history of a buildingThe first phase includes the audiovisual production of an interdisciplinary reference project for eHeritageLab that focuses on the evolution of the building and its surroundings, with the business partnership of Megalito Media; A prototype app for non-formal learning: a case applied to the Porto Botanical Garden, which highlights the potential of using a reward system based on digital badgesalong with new Interactive Routes to (re)discover the U.Porto, its People and its City, for the Country and the World, of which the ones that take us through the work of the poet Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen and the sculptor José Rodrigues for the U.Porto Digital Museum app stand out, with the business partnership of Weblevel.
