The primary aim of this initiative is to promote another moment of sharing and discussion in the field of History Education. In this sense, the aim is to establish greater proximity between various higher education institutions, as well as a cooperative dialog between their teachers/researchers and students, so that everyone can think about the specificities of teaching and learning History or, more broadly, the Social Sciences. With regard to the educational practices that take place from pre-school education to the last cycle of basic education, it seems increasingly pertinent to reflect on current concepts such as those that are being constructed about learning, historical awareness, didactic options, heritage, historical thinking, curricular decisions, …

To this end, the motto will be the perspectives taken by those who for many years have been dedicated to researching the potential of history education for children and young people of different ages, as well as the experiences of future teachers and educators during supervised educational practice while attending a professional master’s degree course.

This meeting will take place at the Noble Amphitheatre of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto on May 17, 2019, starting at 9 am.
