I International Colloquium Gesture and Belief: paths, transfers and intermediality
The 1st International Colloquium on Gesture and Belief aims to be a meeting that promotes international and interdisciplinary debate between researchers working in the field of Religion Studies.
In recent decades, new currents have explored religious expression as a material chain of relationships and encounters between bodies, objects and other sensory stimuli, surpassing the previous approach that focused mainly on spirituality. In this sense, and under the premise of “routes, transfers and intermediality”, this colloquium will promote the discussion of the following themes: sensory stimuli and religious experience; pilgrimages, pilgrimages and processions; the dissemination of images, practices and cults; books and the circulation of devotional readings.
