This conference aims to investigate how scenographic space is configured in the New Brazilian Historical Novel. We need to identify how the descriptive figuration operates – houses, mansions, churches, monasteries, synagogues, public buildings, bridges, streets, squares, among others – in order to interpret these representations. It is lucid to note that many historical novelists investigate historical compendiums, documents from the period covered, institutional archives, research centers, museums, probing how to represent or forge the background of the historical plots formulated.
